We had a little rest from Schrödinger’s cat, the one people had begun to hate madly… and yet when it disappeared for two days they started asking about it…
Previous posts are in the first reference for anyone who wants to review them…
The talk about “Schrödinger’s cat” led us to the ancient Egyptian goddess “Bastet”, who carries in her breast the spirit of the lioness “Sekhmet”… who in turn has a strange story.
Once upon a time “Ra”… the chief of the gods… woke up one day and his whole body began turning into gold… and all his bones turned into silver (a metaphor for his having grown old and aged)… and when he came down to his temple in that appearance, the Egyptians mocked him… and belittled him… so he grew furiously angry with the Egyptians… and ascended to the sun boat… and unleashed upon them his pampered daughter Sekhmet… the beloved of Ptah, the eye of Ra, the lady of war, the queen of the Two Lands (Upper and Lower Egypt), and the lady of the Libyan land… and Sekhmet was a warrior goddess… with the head, fangs and claws of a lioness… swords and spears had no effect on her… and the bravest warriors trembled before her…
The Egyptians tried to stand up to Sekhmet… but the weapons had no effect on her at all… and the spears were shattered against her breast… her speed was like the wind and her leaps reached the heights of mountains… and her fangs and claws were deadly… and she charged about tearing people apart in every direction and devouring them.
How could anyone defeat a creature like that??
Through prayer.. the Egyptians began to beseech Ra to forgive them and lift this torment from them.. and in the end Ra’s heart softened.. and he ordered Sekhmet to stop and return…
And here something strange happened..
“Sekhmet”.. and for the first time in history.. refused the order issued by her father.. because she had tasted human blood.. and found its taste delicious, and decided to continue.. even if that obliterated human life from the whole earth…
After adventures and a gathering with the rest of the gods, “Ra” finds the solution with “Thoth” as well.. the lord of knowledge and wisdom, of algebra and geometry.. whose mind encompasses all the sciences, arts and crafts of the universe.. and who controls Sekhmet with a clever and at the same time simple trick.. which we may tell tomorrow..
Einstein had rejected the story of “Schrödinger” and his cat and the uncertainty principle.. and decided that there must be loopholes in this theory.. and tried to refute Heisenberg’s uncertainty principle, through several thought experiments.. in which he brought in speed, momentum and time..
Einstein had his eye on the universe as a vast unit comprising smaller units.. and he did not know how to set out to measure and study the rules of the universe with the theories of quantum.. that is because, as we said the first time.. quantum mechanics does not apply to large bodies..
Einstein tried to reconcile these theories with relativity. And to see the applications of quantum on the universe.. and he began to study.. can a shadow exist without light.. can you really be in two states at one time.. can you exist in two places at the same time? And then he went back on his research and set off in another direction..
And if only he had continued..!
Because less than about two years ago.. a physics professor named “Tim Koslowski” put forward a strange theory.. and studied it.. and wrote an extensive paper on it with his team.. and reached in it a result that Einstein had almost reached…
He told us quantum mechanics is right.. and the shadow exists on its own without light.. and time can run backwards..
The shadow is “the blocking of light by an opaque body” in its simplest definition.. you put a non-transparent body in front of any beam of light.. you find a shadow of that body from the light it blocked.. and it usually takes the same shape..
But “Koslowski” fired a powerful laser beam.. in a gaseous medium.. and shone a strong beam of light onto the laser..
And although the laser is itself light.. in the experiment a shadow appeared for the laser beam…
Meaning light itself came to have a shadow, because of the interference of its photons, and he told us we can calculate this matter with “Bose–Einstein statistics”…
He took us from the experiment to another point and told us that there is an unknown hypothetical energy filling space called “dark energy”..
This energy is a “shadow” that exists in its own right..
A shadow without light..
And stranger still, this shadow is not constant.. it is in a state of expansion..
And that the expansion of this energy.. is what makes the universe itself expand…
And widen..
A shadow without light.. in the form of pure energy.. leading to the expansion of the universe itself…
And just as Einstein arrived and told us of two twin universes.. “Koslowski” told us.. that other parallel universe has become.. one in which time runs backwards..
Meaning if you went there your clock’s hands would turn backwards..
And bodies, instead of growing feeble and old.. grow smaller..
And particles, instead of joining.. separate..
Just as our universe is decomposing.. this strange parallel universe is also decomposing..
And mountains crumble into sand.. and sand crumbles into dust like flour.. and the powder breaks down into atoms.. and water breaks down into hydrogen and oxygen.. until the hour of this universe comes..
And just as our universe will collapse and fold in on itself like paper.. this other universe will shrink and crumple and fold in on itself like paper.. and return to how it began long ago..
A subatomic particle…
Then a burst of energy…
A state of reverse decomposition that happens all the time.. making this universe perish, but not through ageing.. on the contrary..
And this universe is entirely subject to quantum.. because all the time it is breaking down into atomic and subatomic particles.. and its particles break down and grow smaller.. and quantum mechanics with all its branches is its key..
And this parallel universe has a strange property..
All of it is shadow…
Drowned in shadow.. and the opposite of what happens with us is what is true there.. if you block the shadow that fills this strange universe with an opaque body.. you find light..!
And although the Bohr–Einstein debates were based, for the most part, on Einstein’s rejection of Heisenberg’s principle and Schrödinger’s cat.. and had scientific backing.. Bohr, after Einstein’s death, declared his defeat in the debates.. and celebrated his victory over the terrifying physicist, the genius of the century..
Except that, despite this.. “Koslowski” told us that quantum is right.. and “Bohr” is right, but Einstein is also right…
Both are right.. “Bohr” did not defeat Einstein and Einstein did not defeat Bohr.. each of them saw things from a different perspective…
The cat’s situation in the box is not “uncertain”.. the particle’s situation is not uncertain.. these are measurable situations..
And “Koslowski” affirmed Einstein’s idea and told us simply.. we can know whether the cat with the radioactive body is alive or dead if we simply.. knew the age of the radioactive body and exactly when it will decay.. at a certain point in time.. we will be certain that it has not decayed.. and the cat is alive.. and after that we will be certain that it has decayed and the cat is dead…
And at the same time “Koslowski” told us, but when? The cat might have withstood the radiation dose after the radioactive particle decayed.. and did not die until we opened the box..
We will find it exhausted.. sick.. but alive..
And other quantum scientists picked up the thread of “Koslowski’s” talk.. and decided to study a new experiment.. and see whether it is really possible for you to exist in two places at the same time?…
And based on this idea they made a strange machine..
And we have a coming appointment in which we will talk about this machine and quantum mechanics.. and to the conversation there is an end…
