(A republication of the episodes of "From the Village to the Gallows", collected together)
------------------------
His mother kept trying to fulfil her dream and sent him money during his studies, and he did indeed succeed and finished his studies and worked for a salary of six pounds.. and there his true metal showed itself.. when he refused to send a single pound to his poor mother who had denied herself food in order to educate him.. and he said literally, in his own handwriting, that "the salary was barely enough for him" and that he could not give anyone anything...
This particular detail is in his own memoirs, the ones he wrote in his own handwriting, "A Child from the Village"...
Many people perhaps do not know that many of the phrases that circulated after 25 January 2011 are quoted directly from the writings of this man.. such as "the slaves weep for their executioners" and "there is no rule but God's rule" and "when we live for ourselves we die, but when we live for an idea, the idea does not die".. and so on...
Indeed his followers — later on — tore sayings away from genuine, honourable resistance fighters like Omar al-Mukhtar.. and attributed their words to him...
People were taken in by him as a religious preacher, while in truth he was nothing but a failed agent; the goal he was planted for was to deliver anarchy to Arab societies at a time when society could not bear these ideas.. but in a religious wrapping..
He trespassed against almost all the prophets.. In 1939 he published a lengthy study in "Al-Muqtataf" magazine in which he said literally of the prophet of God Moses, peace be upon him: "a model of the impulsive, narrow-minded fanatic".. and "obsessed with national fanaticism and nervous excitement"..
As for his description of our master Solomon's meeting with the Queen of Sheba, it was strangeness itself...
What he asserted was that it was a purely sexual, lustful encounter, and he went on and on to a degree that of course I cannot go on with: "here the man wakes up who wants to dazzle the woman with his strength"...
I do not want to go into this detail at length because he trespassed against many prophets, among them Adam, David and Joseph (whose incident with Potiphar's wife he described in a strange way that has no place to be mentioned here).. and he described the Lady Virgin Mary — whom the Qur'an mentions as the purest of the people of the earth among women and the most perfect of them — as having pursued men and desired them, only, alas, the opportunity never came.!!!
For he said literally in the book "The Artistic Imagery of the Qur'an": "Here she is in her seclusion, reassured by her solitude, dominated in her conscience by what dominates a girl in her bath".. and he went on into an even more deviant and more hideous description of the visit of the Holy Spirit to the Lady Mary, peace be upon them both...
Of course I apologise profusely for conveying this idiocy.. but I want to show you how relentless hammering on the ears and cramming wrong concepts into the minds of simple people can turn a donkey or a corrupt, corrupting, undutiful son into a preacher...
The person who is the subject of our talk, "Sayyid Qutb Ibrahim Hussein al-Shazli", was born in 1906 in a simple village in Asyut, and his family struggled fiercely so that he could be educated at a time when villagers hardly educated their children and did not see any use in education in the first place...
The truth is that the young child Sayyid Qutb succeeded in the kuttab in his village, and entered a primary school in the village (note that there were schools in the villages, normally) and then travelled to Cairo and joined Dar al-Ulum.. He graduated and worked.. and then came his turn to repay his mother, who had spent on him and had become a weak old woman with no source of income.. and his answer was, in short: "The money is barely enough for me"...
He wrote this strange book of his.. and published stranger ideas and articles, and nobody spoke to him or said anything to him.. no book of his was confiscated and no article of his was banned.. and even later, in his work at the Ministry of Education.. he disagreed with his superior about the ideas he wanted to put into the curricula.. and he resigned.. nobody dismissed him.. according to what he himself wrote about himself...
At that time there was ordinary freedom of expression, plain and simple.. and people used to go out in demonstrations saying: we do not want al-Nahhas's government.. and the next day al-Nahhas's government would be removed...
Qutb himself insulted Taha Hussein in his articles.. and Taha Hussein at that time was minister of education.. and nobody spoke to Qutb at all or touched him with any harm.. on the contrary.. there are experts who attribute the reason for his fame to his attack on Taha Hussein...
He kept insulting Taha Hussein for a while and then found the matter had no resonance.. so he moved on to insulting al-Aqqad.. even though he was originally from al-Aqqad's literary school and one of the greatest influenced by him.. but on his journey in search of fame and money he decided to trample on anyone.. as he did with his mother, whose fate is unknown as far as the writer of these lines is concerned...
There are experts who say, maliciously, that Sayyid Qutb's attack on al-Aqqad and Taha Hussein was an attempt to deal with them as equals and be of their weight.. but unfortunately it did not happen.. and that pushed him to withdraw from poetry and literature later on...
In 1948 he travelled on a scholarship to America from the Ministry of Education, which he had not yet left..
And there he loved a lady of European origin and wrote poetry about the American people and the splendour of the West and its civilisation.. and so on.. and he sent his articles to the Egyptian newspapers.. and he published at that time a series of articles called "America from Within"...
Afterwards this lady left him for some reason.. so he suddenly discovered that the American people were a contemptible people.. civilised and everything, but their minds were empty and beast-like, understanding nothing, and lower than insects.. and he published his rancour in an article he sent to the Egyptian newspapers called "The America I Saw"...
The July Revolution took place and it flattered the dream of power deep inside Qutb.. so he cancelled the scholarship and returned from America immediately to the Ministry of Education.. it is said that he aspired to the post of minister of education..
Most likely this was true, because Sayyid Qutb supported the July Revolution intensely.. and backed the Free Officers and wrote articles and letters praising them!!
Yes, you did not misread the previous sentence at all.. Sayyid Qutb used to support the July Revolution and the Free Officers intensely, and he was a personal friend of the late Gamal Abdel Nasser... which shows you that the matter is not an ideology or any talk of that kind...
The game is a purely political game and its basis is "where is my interest"...
But what happened between him and Abdel Nasser later was very strange...
.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Let us go on a little with his life and his ideas before the July Revolution.. the names of the references are mentioned in the text for anyone who doubts or would like to research further...
Helmy el-Namnam mentioned in his book (Sayyid Qutb and the July Revolution) p. 69:
"One of the old journalists, who had worked with Sayyid Qutb at (Al-Alam al-Arabi) magazine, told me that even until 1948, he used from time to time to go to the (Al-Liwa) bar and drink a little (cognac), and it was his favourite drink"
And Mr. Helmy continues, saying: "One of Sayyid Qutb's followers — previously — namely Ali al-Ashmawi, related that he was at Sayyid Qutb's house in 1965, he and some of his (brothers), discussing the affairs of (the organisation) — for which they were later tried — and the day was one of the Fridays and the session was long, and the time for prayer came, so Ali al-Ashmawi said:
"Let us get up and pray"...
"And the surprise was that I learned — for the first time — that Sheikh Sayyid Qutb does not pray the Friday prayer..."
And al-Ashmawi transmits from his sheikh Sayyid Qutb that he holds — jurisprudentially — that the Friday prayer falls away if the caliphate falls, and that there is no Friday prayer except with a caliphate"...
!!!
Of course this is just a clarification to show that the matter is not piety or anything.. the matter is merely a deranged, disturbed lunatic trying to deceive people behind the veil of religion...
Sayyid Qutb was strange in thought.. deviant in views.. to the point that this is recorded in the Brotherhood's own references.. and the Brotherhood historian Mahmoud Abdel Halim wrote that he had read
a published article in Al-Ahram on 17 May 1934 by Sayyid Qutb calling for complete nudity, and for people to walk in the streets completely naked just as their mothers bore them...
Mahmoud Abdel Halim showed the article to Hassan al-Banna and offered to respond to Sayyid Qutb with a counter-article.. but al-Banna refused "so that the idea would not spread"...
And despite his obscene calls and his crude sexual poetry and his novels that would only be published by a mentally ill person or someone afflicted with a sexual psychological disorder like "Alaa
al-Aswany".. Qutb carried on writing about religion at the very same moment!!
You may not be surprised if you know the reason mentioned by Sayyid Qutb's close friend; Abbas Khadr in the "Iqra" series under the title (These I Knew) in March
1983 p. 56, when he said:
"Sayyid Qutb said to me one day that religion is a necessity for leading the human herds, and their leadership cannot be made pliant without it"...
Meaning that religion, for Qutb, was merely a means of mobilising people and controlling them and nothing more.. and for the sake of his base purpose he raved about religion a great deal and planted loathsome ideas...
This stage is very important because from the cloak of the sick, black ideas springing from Sayyid Qutb's own complex, mad psyche, which the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood group adopted, there emerged the Salafi Jihadi group, and Takfir wal-Hijra.. and every person who sees the homeland as merely dust and gravel and thinks it is not important to sell it or blow it to pieces for private benefit...
(See on this point the book of the Tunisian expert Dr. Abdellatif Hermassi "On Salafi Organisations in the Arab Maghreb.. The Phenomenon and the Dimensions" - date
of publication 30 November 2007)...
His writings were bizarre and the matter is atrocious, and Sayyid Qutb insisted on presenting himself as a "renewer of religion".. to the point that Dr. Mohamed al-Ghamrawi — professor of chemistry at the Faculty of Medicine
at the time — attacked Sayyid Qutb saying:
"The issue is not one of renewing a religion or a struggle between old and new jurisprudence as they call it, and it is not a choice between one literature and another, one method and another, but in its true essence
"it is a question of choosing between one religion and another"...
So the truth is that Mohamed al-Ghamrawi declared it plainly.. that Qutb was preaching a new religion.. and his purpose was merely to marshal the simple-minded to his side...
Exactly like Hassan-i Sabbah, the leader of the Assassins, "and you will know why they were called that in a few lines".. who deluded his followers in the year 430 AH that he had incarnated as the son of the murdered caliph "Nizar", Commander of the Faithful.. and walked through the streets of Khorasan marshalling the common people.. and after a while he convinced his followers that he was the Mahdi and that the caliphate would come at his hands.. just like any madman, starting with Abu Ismail, passing through Morsi and ending with Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi...
Hassan-i Sabbah used to bring his followers.. and get them to drink hashish, "Indian hemp".. until they became like "Hambola and Oka and Ortega" among us.. and then he would send them on
an assassination mission...
Assassinations were one of the features of this era.. "the era of Hassan-i Sabbah".. exactly as Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis and the Brotherhood group do today.. and it was
common that when they assassinated the killer or sniped him.. they would find on him a deed signed by Hassan-i Sabbah granting him a palace in Paradise...
The religion that Hassan-i Sabbah invented and mixed with Islam for his terrorist political movement was called "Nizariyya".. after the young man Nizar ibn al-Mustansir Billah..
whom the vizier Badr al-Jamali assassinated...
Of course Sabbah cared neither about Nizar nor about anything else.. he just wanted power...
And that was Qutb's dream.. and just as there was a Nizariyya.. and it was one of the most horrific political terrorist movements in history and the most violent and bloody of them.. there came, on the tongue of Dr. Mohamed al-Ghamrawi, professor of chemistry at the Faculty of Medicine.. the label "the Qutbist faith"...
Do you want to be completely certain of this point? Read Qutb's own confessions:
"America deforms and disfigures those who study in it and those who graduate from its universities, so they return to their countries without a personality or an entity, and without knowledge or literature or morals.."...
And it seems that Qutb was talking about himself and the developments that happened to him there.. he was honest with himself in that, because his scholarship to America and what he did there and the plan that was drawn up for him settled many things inside him.. the most important of which was a complete break with criticism and critical studies, and a distancing from the world of literature and literary people...
And he declared that from there in a letter he sent to Anwar al-Ma'adawi on 3 March 1950, in which he said:
"You expect my return so that I go back to my place in the field of literary criticism?.. I am afraid to tell you that this will not be, and that it is more fitting for you to rely on yourself until a new critic emerges!!"...
And Sayyid Qutb continues with the most dangerous part:
"I will devote what remains of my life and my effort to a plan for a complete social programme that will consume the lifetimes of many", and this was mentioned by Dr. Helmy el-Namnam in the previous source p. 89...
And indeed the programme was the destruction of Islamic societies in the name of Islam and turning people against their homelands and fragmenting them in the name of the Lord...
And it is established that Sayyid Qutb in America attended Masonic meetings and gatherings openly.. and this forced Mohamed al-Ghazali, may God have mercy on him — when he was a Brotherhood member — to defend him in the book Qadhif al-Haq.. and to say: "It is not a defect for a believing man to go to a wine house to guide some of its people to give up drinking wine"...
As if the Masonic lodge was waiting for Sayyid Qutb to come and guide its members and call them to the true religion.....!!!
This is of course a very blatant fallacy.. al-Ghazali apologised for it in a manner of ambiguity later when he grew older and matured.. in his book "The Concerns of a Preacher"...
And the strange thing is that Sayyid Qutb in his letters from America confirmed his visits to centres of political and strategic studies, and centres of political decision-making in America.. such as the Congress Council, the State Department, the Pentagon, the White House, the National Security Council and the American Central Intelligence Agency!!
American intelligence at that time was a newborn entity.. founded by men of the British Fifth Bureau.. and its officers were extremely voracious in gathering information.. when Sayyid Qutb became a close personal friend.. not of them.. no.. of the entire apparatus...!
In this period the matter drew the attention of Abdel Maged al-Shazly.. who tried to alert Qutb to "the religious prohibition of cooperating with the enemy".. and Qutb replied in a famous letter: "I am researching and investigating the theories of American political decision-making and its models of manufacture and the art of the political process and its roles and the role of constitutional institutions in it for the sake of the freedom of my homeland and the homelands of the Muslims"...
And the end of the matter was that instead of Abdel Maged al-Shazly guiding.. Qutb.. Abdel Maged entered with Qutb into the Masonic lodge!!
In this period, as we said in the first part.. he supported the July Revolution intensely when it took place... and sent telegrams of support to Gamal Abdel Nasser and Mohamed Naguib.. and decided to return to Egypt to take his share of the cake...
Or that is what he imagined...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sayyid Qutb met the late Gamal Abdel Nasser in Cairo.. Gamal had recently split from the Brotherhood, after it became clear to him that their ideas had nothing to do with the objectives of the revolution.. and that the matter was reaching power at any price for certain purposes, not all of which had been revealed to Abdel Nasser at the beginning because of his youth.. but he realised that there was something not clean...
The Free Officers had not forgotten anyone who had supported them.. The idea of besieging the king in his palace and removing him was based on surprise.. and nevertheless; there was a great possibility that the Free Officers realised, that they might clash with units of the naval forces and the royal guard, and that would have meant their death.. and that is what would indeed have happened, because the naval forces were in the service of guarding the king with their warships and submarines and commando men and frogmen and engagement boats and mechanised infantry and aircraft.. had not the king at that time ordered these forces not to move.. and refused for any Egyptian blood to be shed, in exchange for keeping his post...
Here this gives you a small indication of the difference between an honourable man who decided to spare blood.. and a madman who fell in love with his own legend and decided to keep his seat with blood while singing the song of "legitimacy"...
Anyway, Abdel Nasser did not forget that Sayyid Qutb was one of the supporters of the revolution.. When Abdel Nasser met Qutb.. Qutb appeared to him with his civilised, genial, handsome face.. and he was "a man of a thousand faces", according to the testimony of Abdel Wahab al-Messiri, who at that time had recently joined the Brotherhood...
The important thing is that Sayyid Qutb met Abdel Nasser and spoke to him about spreading the sciences, the arts and literature.. and this made Abdel Nasser admire the thinking of Sayyid Qutb that he heard.. and his idea of developing the education system.. and producing a conscious, cultured generation.. and this later made Abdel Nasser offer Sayyid Qutb the Ministry of Education...
A year after the July Revolution.. it became clear that the heads of the parties — as happens today, and every day we see one of them sitting with Ashton and Kerry while he holds no public office — were contacting foreign ministers and official foreign envoys secretly and openly...
Here the decision was issued to dissolve the parties and confiscate their funds (because resorting to foreign powers in internal affairs is called "treason", my dear).. and Gamal Abdel Nasser founded the "Liberation Rally"...
This body hosted Qutb at a lavish, solemn celebration.. and honoured him.. in the presence of Gamal Abdel Nasser.. and Sayyid Qutb stood that day shouting and crying out that he was ready to champion the revolution and defend Egypt's national security even if he entered prison dozens of times.. and the acting was so masterful that Abdel Nasser rose from his seat.. and embraced Sayyid Qutb in front of everyone and promised him protection and to defend him with his life.. after they had come together in love of the homeland...
"But Sayyid Qutb had completely different plans, and they were, as we have said, controlling the masses through religious thought.. and mobilising them for personal interests, yes personal, after he had decided deep inside to break free of any "external or internal" dependency.. and to aspire to something greater than the post of the Ministry of Education.. which he had refused when Abdel Nasser offered it to him.. in order to achieve his dream"... (Sayyid Qutb between Extremism and Slander - Abu al-Haytham Muhammad Darwish)...
Sayyid Qutb saw that the group possessed a certain power.. and had strong contacts with the British government, and he learned that there were secret and private contacts between al-Hudaybi, the group's Supreme Guide, and Anthony Eden, the British prime minister personally.. so he decided to take the risk and join it, because he realised that reaching the leadership of the group was much easier than reaching the leadership of the Egyptian army and ruling the country.. and it was the gamble whose price he later paid with his life.. (See the memoirs of Anthony Eden - translated by Mr. Mohamed Hassan Ibrahim; and likewise the memoirs of Winston Churchill's private secretary; Sir John Colville, The Fringes of Power - 1985)
Abdel Nasser tried to contain Qutb and dissuade him from the decision to join the Brotherhood.. but Sayyid Qutb had made his decision, and his rotten clichés began to appear — because he knew they were his ticket to pass into the group of lunatics — so he began repeating "there is no homeland except Islam".. "and the homeland is nothing but a handful of rotten soil"... and so on with this nonsense that they deafened us with.. and it indicates, if it indicates anything.. that they are cattle and beasts who understand neither the meaning of the homeland nor the meaning of Islam...
It is enough for us to know that these ideas.. Qutb's sick ideas.. were later influenced by "Shukri Mustafa", the leader of the Takfir wal-Hijra group.. which assassinated the former Minister of Endowments, Sheikh Muhammad Hussein al-Dhahabi, in 1977.. They kidnapped Sheikh al-Dhahabi from his house in the midst of his children and his wife.. and fled with him and killed him while he was bound and unarmed...
If we go back to Mustafa Shukri's interrogations.. you find him saying on p. 1540 of the prosecution papers:
"If the matter requires the entry of the Jews or others into Egypt.. then the movement at that point should not fight in the ranks of the Egyptian army.. and it must flee to any safe place.. since our plan is to flee from the incoming enemy exactly as we flee from the local enemy... and not to confront him"...
(Note that this is the same ISIS thinking of: why should we fight Israel? Let us fight the local enemy first)
Then Shukri Mustafa called on his followers to sabotage their weapons if they were forced to fight with the Egyptian army against any invasion.......!
In his book "Milestones" Sayyid Qutb promotes on p. 149 a strange division that has no evidence in Islamic history, nor in the Book of God, nor in the books of the Sunnah, where he divides the lands into what he calls "the abode of war" and "the abode of Islam", and he does not attribute a land to the Islam of its people or their unbelief always to the ruler alone.. no.. he attributes it to the people as well...
So if the ruler applies Islamic law according to the Brotherhood's understanding, then the country is "the abode of Islam"...
And if the ruler does not commit to applying it, the country is "the abode of war", and the Muslim's relation to it is either fighting or a truce upon a pledge of safety, and there is no loyalty between its people and the Muslim.......!!!
The secret of the Brotherhood's actions becomes clear to you, from "Nesto cheese, you disgusting lot" to bombs being planted in a tram and a train and among simple people.. when we realise — according to Qutb's jurisprudence — that the ruling on Muslims in the abode of war is that they are "lawful as to blood, wealth and honour", for he says on p. 157
"The Muslim fights it even if it is where he was born and where his blood relatives are and where his son-in-law is and where his wealth and his interests are"......!!
Sayyid Qutb also rules that these Muslims are unbelievers as long as the rule does not apply the Sharia, for he says on p. 116: "Islamic society is not the one that includes people who call themselves Muslims while the Sharia of Islam is not the law of this society, even if they pray and fast and make pilgrimage to the Sacred House"!!
On the same page, Sayyid Qutb denies the Islam of the Arabs altogether, and especially the Egyptians, saying: "This is not Islam and these are not Muslims.. and the call today is only being made to bring these ignorant ones back to Islam and to make them Muslims anew"....!
And in this way Qutb declared all the Muslims of the planet to be unbelievers as long as they are in a society that does not apply the Sharia.. and although he was sitting in America and America does not apply the Sharia.. but the Brotherhood's jurisprudence and what they forbid to people does not apply to them.. it is only forbidden to people.. permitted to them...
At the same time Qutb's relationship with his American friends continued.. and they began to worry that he was behaving somewhat erratically.. and it became clear that he was moving on his own initiative toward some goal...
Sayyid Qutb was indeed a member of the Muslim Brotherhood at that time...
And here a message reached Sayyid Qutb from the American authorities; of the utmost secrecy.. and danger...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1954... the peak of the struggle between Abdel Nasser, who had split from the Brotherhood after seeing their lies with his own eyes and uncovering their schemes that had nothing to do with the homeland, and Mohamed Naguib, the kind old man.. who wanted to give them a chance and "integrate" them into political life with "reconciliation and containment, Mona".. despite Abdel Nasser's warnings...
Abdel Nasser's policy leaned strongly toward independence from America and England and the rest of the Western bloc.. and alliance with the Eastern bloc.. and of course this did not please the United States or England at that time..
In January of the same year.. Sayyid Qutb received a message from the American Central Intelligence Agency through "Saeed Ramadan", the husband of Hassan al-Banna's daughter and one of the Brotherhood members, and it was a real surprise to Qutb.. that Saeed Ramadan was working for the Agency too.. but as a professional he got over his astonishment; and afterwards he was forced to return to the United States in 1954, specifically in January.. on the pretext of (settling his property that he had left behind before returning from the scholarship)...
And Sayyid Qutb arrived in the States.. and there he met Professor "John Wallace Sterling", the president of Stanford University.. who was working for American intelligence (this information is not documented by neutral or sufficient references).. and it was he who arranged a meeting between Qutb and the American intelligence officer who had recruited Qutb from the very beginning...
And there Qutb handed him a report containing the most precise details of the Islamic groups in Egypt.. including the Brotherhood...
The trips were repeated several times through the intermediary "Saeed Ramadan".. until Qutb learned a method of writing coded messages.. instead of travelling and meetings, and he returned to Egypt after that.. in order to continue his journey... (See on the foregoing Vladimir Odintsov - New Eastern Outlook.. and likewise Devil's Game - Robert Dreyfuss - 2005)
At the same time the group was exploiting the struggle between Nasser and Naguib in an attempt to make whichever of them.. who would rule.. mere decoration.. with the group ruling from behind him.. and Britain tried to do this through the Supreme Guide "Hassan al-Hudaybi", who was one of the followers of the British Fifth Bureau in Egypt..
Sheikh Mohamed al-Ghazali, later, when he uncovered these facts and split from the group.. said literally:
"I do not know exactly how these bodies that disbelieve in Islam were able to control and strangle a large group like the Muslim Brotherhood in the way they did, and perhaps the future will reveal the secrets of this tragedy..."
(See "Min Ma'alim al-Haqq fi Kifahina al-Islami al-Mu'asir", Dar al-Kutub al-Haditha - p. 264)...
At this moment the United States was trying desperately.. and was on the verge of wresting the group's allegiance entirely from Britain, after winning over "Abdel Rahman Ali Farraj al-Sindi" and making him stand toe to toe with the Supreme Guide "al-Hudaybi" and attempting to control the group instead of him.. and Abdel Rahman al-Sindi was a strong man and al-Hudaybi reckoned a thousand times with him.. and while the United States bet on al-Sindi.. Britain preferred to bet on al-Hudaybi's power...
The British prime minister at the time (Anthony Eden) mentioned this in detail in his memoirs for anyone who would like to research further..
The same year; 1954, and it seems it was a charged year full of events; a new emblem appeared representing the Eye of Horus, in a royal pharaonic cartouche.. and beneath it a powerful eagle pouncing on a poisonous snake and tearing it from the ground.. announcing the birth of the "Egyptian General Intelligence Service", which was called at the time "the General Intelligence"...
And although the apparatus was newborn.. Abdel Nasser gave it special attention, given his observation that the coming wars in the future would have as their first and principal weapon information...
And the apparatus began collecting information.. any information, however small or trivial it might seem...
And on an exhausting, sleepless working night one of the apparatus's officers was reviewing some files of people close to the Revolutionary Command Council.. when he noticed that "Saeed Ramadan's" travel to the United States coincided with "Sayyid Qutb's" travel.. this was an ordinary thing and could have passed unnoticed, had the intelligence officer not noticed that this coincided on the very same dates with the travel of "Abdel Rahman al-Sindi" to Syria and Sudan, and with movements of the group there...
And the intelligence officer stopped for a long time at the name "Abdel Rahman al-Sindi".. and recalled "the jeep car case" of 1948 in his mind.. when the police suspected a jeep.. it carried no licence plates.. and they stopped it and it turned out to contain weapons and explosives and information about the Egyptian regime in sealed envelopes.. prepared to be sent to an unknown destination...
And because of this case.. al-Nuqrashi Pasha dissolved the group and confiscated its property by military decree.. and dismissed every state employee and student belonging to it with an arbitrary, irrevocable dismissal.. and because of this decision the group assassinated "Mahmoud Fahmi al-Nuqrashi" Pasha in 1948...
This case, by the way, the court later ruled acquittal in it.. and the acquittal ruling violated the law and suffered from deficiency in its reasoning in many respects.. and it was said in its grounds literally:
"The court declares" while it is reassured; that there was torture inflicted on the accused".. and "the investigation was chaos from which the truth could not be discerned" and the ruling concluded its grounds with:
"And this court commends the principles of the Muslim Brotherhood"...!!
The ruling ended with the acquittal of most of the accused.. and the imprisonment of some of them from one year to two years.....!!
Nevertheless the state had no choice but to execute the ruling.. but the reason for the strange acquittal and these farcical rulings appeared later and was a surprise to everyone..
The secret of the acquittal became clear when Counsellor "Ahmed Kamel", the head of the court that was hearing the case, announced his explicit joining of the Muslim Brotherhood group along with the judge who was the right-hand member "Mahmoud Abdel Latif".. and the matter was later established when "Ahmed Kamel" resigned from the judiciary and entered the legal profession in order to plead against the government in the case of the killing of "Hassan al-Banna"...
(See the book The Truth of the Special Organisation and Its Role in the Call of the Muslim Brotherhood, Mahmoud al-Sabbagh)...
The intelligence officer recalled all this information in his mind, and in a second he settled his decision and picked up the telephone receiver at four in the morning in order to call the head of the apparatus at the time...
"Zakaria Mohieddin"...
------------------------------
"Proving the existence of God is a difficult matter.. but religion is necessary in any case for leading the human herds, and their leadership cannot be made pliant without religion"... Sayyid Qutb...
(Abbas Khadr - in his book published under the title "These I Knew" - the March 1983 issue of the Iqra series)...
------------------------------
At exactly half past four in the morning, "Zakaria Mohieddin's" car was making its way into the headquarters of General Intelligence.. and he met at that time with the officer who presented him with the complete papers and documents.. and Mohieddin decided firmly.. that this was not sufficient evidence that Qutb was implicated in anything.. had not the Egyptian intelligence man presented him with 3 documents of the utmost strangeness in terms of content..
The first two papers have the same content.. and they are two letters from the minister of education at the time and Dr. Abdel Razzaq al-Sanhouri together.. warning the American government against Qutb when it chose him for the scholarship.. and disclaiming their responsibility for what he might cause in American society with his religiously extremist ideas...
And the second letter was an insistence from the American side on "Sayyid Qutb" despite that.. along with a statement describing his scholarship...!!!
And stranger still was a document describing the scholarship itself.. a "tailored" and unique scholarship.. since no specific course of study was prescribed for it, nor even a specific university; rather it was a free scholarship in which Qutb was left to roam the whole of America and reside wherever he wished and meet whomever he wished at the expense of the American government granting the scholarship...!!!
Let us leave Dr. al-Taher Makki here to explain this secret to us in Al-Hilal magazine, the October 1986 issue, under the title "Sayyid Qutb and His Three Letters That Have Not Yet Been Published":
"This scholarship was the product of an American plan, even if Sayyid Qutb did not know at the beginning that he was part of an American bet.. but the game captivated him to the marrow.. and later Sayyid Qutb admitted to his companion in prison, Sayyid Salem, that he had fallen under the temptation of the American Central Intelligence Agency, which expended every means to that end"...
But Zakaria Mohieddin insistently refused to consider this as conclusive evidence.. although at the same time he ordered that Qutb be watched closely and all his letters intercepted and his movements monitored...
At the same time Mohamed Naguib had begun to be strongly influenced by the ideas of the Muslim Brotherhood.. and also at the same time Sayyid Qutb was playing on every rope.. Abdel Nasser.. Naguib.. the group.. the Americans...
At this time there was a strike in Kafr al-Dawwar led by a group of workers under the leadership of "Khamis and al-Baqari".. to demand certain rights.. and Abdel Nasser decided to go down to Kafr al-Dawwar with officers from the army to listen to the workers' demands..
But Qutb had by then bet on Mohamed Naguib.. so all Qutb did was instruct Mohamed Naguib to execute the strike leaders.. and he led a violent campaign in the newspapers that aroused Gamal Abdel Nasser's annoyance.. so he published an article in Al-Akhbar newspaper titled "Movements That Do Not Frighten Us" which included incitement to execute the workers.. and a similar article in the Egyptian Radio magazine in its issue no. 910 issued on 23 August 1952... and a third article.. and a fourth.. and a fifth...
And in the same month Mohamed Naguib executed Khamis and al-Baqari...
You may die laughing later when you read in Al-Youm al-Sabe'a, the Tuesday issue dated 9 September 2014:
"The group calls for demonstrating on the anniversary of the execution of Khamis and al-Baqari"..
........................................!!!!!!!!!!!!
But this is the group, all its life.. living on relentless hammering on the ears and falsifying the truth.. just as they attributed to King Farouk two completely contradictory matters.. that he was sexually impotent.. and a womaniser at the same time.. and that Abdel Nasser executed Khamis and Baqari.. while in truth the one who executed them was "their" mad Qutb.. and then they kill the slain man and walk in his funeral.. and live in a Karbala-like state that is revolting to the point of nausea.. which later makes them believe themselves...
Mohamed Naguib chose to try Khamis and Baqari before Major "Abdel Moneim Muhammad" in a swift military trial.. Abdel Moneim executed the two... and afterwards — as usual — he announced explicitly his joining of the Brotherhood group...
The important thing is.. this situation — the situation of Khamis and Baqari — in particular annoyed the entire Revolutionary Command Council, headed by Gamal Abdel Nasser.. but the time had not yet come for any action...
Sayyid Qutb imagined that he had begun to influence Mohamed Naguib — and he was right — but he imagined that this was his ticket to control the entire Revolutionary Command Council.. and here he was mistaken...
For one day, in the presence of Mohamed Fouad Galal, minister of social affairs, and Abdel Moneim Amin, a member of the Revolutionary Command Council, and some people interested in labour affairs, a meeting was held to draft a law for labour unions.. guaranteeing the workers their representatives and their rights.. and everyone was surprised by the presence of "Qutb" on a recommendation from Mohamed Naguib.. and by his imposing his views on the matter and rejecting it entirely.. so all the officer Abdel Moneim Amin did.. was confront him firmly that he was overstepping his limits.. and that he was merely a guest of honour...
The strange thing is that only hours later Abdel Moneim was surprised by an angry call from Naguib rebuking him for his stance with Qutb and demanding that he carry out what he had said...!!!
(I Speak Now - Khaled Mohieddin - page 137, Ali Ashmawi - The Secret History of the Brotherhood - page 104, Dr. Amin Ezz al-Din - The History of the Working Class - page 809)...
Events began to heat up intensely.. when Mohamed Naguib met with the members of the Revolutionary Command Council and demanded of them — amid the successive crises — that the army return to its barracks (remember the phrase: "return to your barracks" that is repeated now and know where it came from) and that the opportunity be given to the young men of the Muslim Brotherhood to take over the joints of the state with their thought and their theories...!!
And when Abdel Nasser objected, who that day spoke frankly to Naguib that he had seen their ideas up close.. and that they did not believe in the idea of the homeland in the first place.. and Mohamed Fouad Galal objected and said that al-Nuqrashi's decision to dissolve the group and liquidate it was a correct and valid legal decision.. Naguib announced to the Council that he was about to cancel the decision and begin his idea of empowering the group, and to make the post of president of the republic an honorary post.. while the prime minister leads the state.. provided that the prime minister be from the Brotherhood group...!!
And when Naguib's companions on the Revolutionary Command Council objected at this meeting.. he announced to them that he was about to withdraw the Council's powers entirely and monopolise them "for the sake of the path of democracy" and that the entire army was with him and that he had popularity among the officers and soldiers.. and it was a shock to the members of the Council and they spoke frankly to him that his words amounted to a coup against the revolution and the whole Council.. and the discussion developed to the point that "Naguib" expelled Abdel Moneim, Seddik, Sadat and Ahmed Shawqi.. and afterwards he dismissed the rest of the Council's members.. (See the memoirs of Mohamed Naguib; I Was President of Egypt - 1984)...
Here the members of the Council left the meeting.. and gathered around Gamal Abdel Nasser, who had seen the danger clearly from the beginning and made his decision to remove Mohamed Naguib...
And at the same time.. General Intelligence intercepted two coded messages.. one to al-Hudaybi from an address in Italy.. and the other to Sayyid Qutb himself from the United States directly... And after opening the two messages.. the code of al-Hudaybi's message was broken and it was a message from the Fifth Bureau demanding that he pump out leaflets against the Liberation Rally.. and consider everyone who joins it to be in violation of the Muslim Brotherhood group and of what it represents of the true religion...
And it did indeed happen.. Hassan al-Hudaybi issued a statement which he distributed to all Brotherhood branches in the governorates, saying: "Everyone who joins the Liberation Rally is considered dismissed from the Brotherhood, detached from the religion".. Then the Brotherhood's ferocious attack began on the Liberation Rally and its mass organisation, the "Youth Organisation".. and the ferocity of the confrontation between the Brotherhood and the revolution's youth reached the point of using weapons and bombs and sticks and burning cars in the universities...
As for the code of Sayyid Qutb's message, it was new and extremely complex.. the intelligence men were baffled by it...
As we said, the intelligence apparatus was newborn.. and it still did not possess the means that would enable it to break the modern, complex code that the Americans had devised...
And calmly.. Zakaria Mohieddin copied the two messages on the duplicating machine (zincograph).. and the experts placed them in their envelopes and sent them back to al-Hudaybi and Qutb.. as if nothing had happened...
Qutb's message was in fact — the code of which was later broken — instructions from America that he should establish the special secret organisation.. for which he was later executed...
(See on the foregoing, the memoirs of Anthony Eden - prime minister of Britain)
Here Zakaria Mohieddin became completely certain that Qutb was nothing but an American spy in truth.. and that he received coded messages.. and had a relationship with American intelligence.. and his worry about his closeness to Mohamed Naguib increased...
And because Zakaria Mohieddin had not attended the meeting of the Revolutionary Command Council.. he decided to carry all this evidence.. and to take a completely wrong step...
Zakaria Mohieddin decided.. to visit "Mohamed Naguib" himself to present the matter to him...!
.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Zakaria Mohieddin" reached "Mohamed Naguib's" office that day, and while he was going up he met Anwar Sadat coming down.. and Anwar took him with him and told him what had happened at the meeting, and it is clear that they remained standing for a long time, and that the conversation aroused the irritation of Zakaria Mohieddin.. so that after about an hour and a half "Mohamed Naguib" came out accompanied by three men of the republican guard, and he noticed well that Zakaria Mohieddin; had not given him the military salute... (I Speak Now - Khaled Mohieddin - I Was President of Egypt - the memoirs of Mohamed Naguib 1984)
Mohieddin kept the matter of Qutb to himself.. and began to watch him as we have said and follow his letters.. and the men tried hard to break the new American code...
On 25 March 1954 Naguib met with the Revolutionary Command Council and the meeting ended with its decision to allow the formation of parties, and to dissolve the Revolutionary Council on the coming 24 July on the basis that the revolution had ended and the country was handed over to the representatives of the nation, and the army returned to its barracks...
And here on 25 March one of the most violent popular demonstrations in history erupted; it reached its peak on 28 March.. rejecting the return of the army to its barracks.. and when Naguib addressed the people that this was one of the necessities of the democratic transition.. the demonstrations on the 28th chanted "Down with democracy, down with freedom".. and Mohamed Naguib was forced to meet with the Revolutionary Command Council.. and new decisions were issued cancelling the decisions of 25 March...
Naguib's popularity declined sharply at this stage.. and at the same time Qutb had founded the special secret organisation.. and he felt that matters were slipping out of his hands and that Naguib's existence had become precarious.. so he turned once again to courting the Revolutionary Command Council... The relationship had become tense because of al-Hudaybi's statement against the Liberation Rally, between the Brotherhood and the revolution..
Qutb and Abdel Moneim Khalaf went to Lieutenant Colonel Anwar Sadat at the headquarters of the Islamic Conference to talk about improving relations.. and Anwar Sadat replied to him saying: "This is the thousandth time that you manoeuvre in this way.. You, as Abdel Nasser said.. speak to us with one face, and when you leave you speak to the people and to yourselves with another face"... (See the memoirs of Anwar Sadat - In Search of Identity)...
At this time Sayyid Qutb had founded his secret organisation separate from the group, which was later called (the 65 Organisation).. after case no. 12 of 1965 in which the ruling was issued to execute Qutb...
Qutb relied on the young.. and began to benefit from the cases of dissension inside the Brotherhood to add more to his own organisation.. and he inflamed the struggle between al-Sindi and al-Hudaybi.. so al-Hudaybi dismissed Abdel Rahman al-Sindi.. to the point that al-Sindi and his men occupied the group's headquarters.. and went to Hassan al-Hudaybi's house and insulted him.. and because the engineer Mr. al-Sayed Fayez, a Brotherhood member, gathered the Brotherhood, and they went to al-Hudaybi's house and saved al-Hudaybi that day from al-Sindi.. al-Sindi surprised him two days later with an elegant gift; a box of poisoned gateau that ended his life...
(The Movement Encyclopedia: Ibrahim Qa'oud - The Muslim Brotherhood in the Circle of the Absent Truth)...
Al-Sindi began carrying out the plan sent to Qutb by liquidating other Brotherhood members among their opponents in order to weaken the position of the British and their man al-Hudaybi even more.. and to strengthen the new system that Qutb had made... (The Arab Centre for Research and Studies: The Killing of al-Khazindar - September 2010)
And at the same time Abdel Nasser's star began to rise powerfully.. and the Revolutionary Command Council and the people alike gathered around him.. The decline of the influence of the kind old Naguib, whom the group had been laughing at, began to worry the Americans, and the rise of Abdel Nasser's star began to worry the Americans and the English together.. so new instructions were issued to the company of evil.. to take another step of the utmost danger...
The assassination of Gamal Abdel Nasser...
.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On 25 October 1954 Zakaria Mohieddin carried what papers he had.. and sat with Abdel Nasser, and explained to him that there was a plan to assassinate him, which intelligence had uncovered.. and Zakaria Mohieddin begged him to cancel the Manshiya speech.. but Abdel Nasser rebuked him violently, and declared to him that the plan did not frighten him.. so Mohieddin told him that at least until a barrier of bulletproof glass could be prepared..
And although bulletproof glass was invented in 1903.. it was not yet in common use at that time.. and Abdel Nasser refused with Upper Egyptian stubbornness and said to Mohieddin: "I will not speak to the people from behind a pane of glass, Zakaria"...
Zakaria returned and asked Abdel Nasser to intensify the guard around him.. but Abdel Nasser refused...
And despite Abdel Nasser's insistence.. Zakaria Mohieddin tried secretly to secure the place of the speech by every means.. and placed dozens of intelligence men and military police in civilian clothes among the crowd...
The decision to assassinate Abdel Nasser had been issued.. and the Brotherhood chose for this mission one of their men skilled in marksmanship, namely Mahmoud Abdel Latif...
With Nasser assassinated, Naguib would remain in power.. and the Brotherhood would be able to get their opportunity...
And on 26 October 1954 Mahmoud Abdel Latif; fired at Gamal Abdel Nasser in Manshiya...
Mahmoud Abdel Latif hit the cement wall in front of Abdel Nasser.. and the lawyer Ahmed Badr, secretary of the Liberation Rally in Alexandria, with his bullet in his belly, and he hit al-Mirghani Hamza, the Sudanese minister of agriculture and leader of the Sudanese Khatmiyya sect, who was standing next to Abdel Nasser on the platform.. and there was an intelligence officer about 4 metres away from Mahmoud Abdel Latif.. who managed to jump over him and paralyse his movement while the weapon of the crime was in his possession... (Later a joker journalist wrote in Al-Ahram in its issue dated 2 November 1954 that a week after the incident an Upper Egyptian construction worker named "Khedive Adam" found the pistol with which Mahmoud Abdel Latif had tried to assassinate Gamal Abdel Nasser in Manshiya Square, so he travelled from Alexandria to Cairo "on foot" to hand the pistol over himself to President Gamal Abdel Nasser.. an article by way of flattery, of course)...
Robert Dreyfuss in the book "The Devil's Game" says of this part
(Robert Dreyfuss The Devil's Game):
"The Brotherhood's claim that the accused Mahmoud Abdel Latif was known for his skill in hitting the target was justified, and most likely true.. for they would not have chosen a person who was not good at marksmanship for this mission.. but it was the first time that the target was a man of such charisma and popularity, and this was enough to make him tense".. while some eyewitnesses said the reason was the severe crowding and the pushing, and that the killer could not even steady his hand with the weapon because of the extreme crowding...
Later the Brotherhood claimed that Abdel Nasser had engineered the incident and that Mahmoud Abdel Latif had confessed because of torture.. and the Islamic historian "Ahmed Raef" devoted a whole chapter in his book "The Corridors of the Devil".. to convincing the reader that the incident was fabricated...
Ahmed Raef later went back in 2009 and announced that he had been wrong, saying in a press interview published by "Ikhwan Online" and conducted with him by one of the Brotherhood's editors, namely Samir al-Araki:
"When I reviewed myself and reviewed the evidence again and again.. I can now say that the incident was not fabricated.. Anyone who listens to the speech and the state Gamal Abdel Nasser was in after hearing the sound of gunshots will find that he was in a state of panic and tension despite his composure.. and the tones of his voice indicated a state of intense emotion completely devoid of theatrical performance, and he repeated the words without focus..."
"The Manshiya incident was completely real and in it the group tried to assassinate Abdel Nasser"... (See: You Forced Farouk to Abdicate - the Brotherhood writer Abdel Moneim Abdel Raouf)..
The tug of war continued.. between supporter and opponent.. until the fourth accused in the assassination case, "Khalifa Atwa", settled the matter when he later split from the group and wrote the full assassination attempt in his book "The Criminal Brotherhood".. and on 19/5/2009 Khalifa Atwa appeared on a programme with the media figure "Hanaa Samri" on Al-Mehwar channel.. and announced to her that they had indeed gone out that day with Mahmoud Abdel Latif on the group's instructions to assassinate Abdel Nasser in Manshiya.. and he has a famous video on YouTube called "The Attempt to Assassinate Abdel Nasser Was Not Staged"...
(If you would like to know more details about the group's involvement with British intelligence and their planning to assassinate Abdel Nasser in Manshiya in coordination with the Fifth Bureau through Trevor Evans, the honorary counsellor of the British embassy in Cairo; see the book of the British historian and political analyst Stephen Dorril - MI6.. --------------------------------
It was a sunny morning unlike the November days, about two weeks after the Manshiya incident, specifically on 14 November 1954, when Mohamed Naguib came down from his house in Helmiyet al-Zeitoun heading to his office in Abdeen Palace because he was supposed to meet Major Hussein Arafa, the commander of the military police, at the latter's request...
And doubt began to creep into Naguib's soul, and he realised that this was the day he had been expecting.. when he noticed that the military police officers were not giving the military salute, and when he got out of his car inside the palace he was surprised by Major Hussein Arafa of the military police, with two officers and 10 soldiers carrying machine guns, surrounding him...
And he was surprised by the situation, Naguib's guard was alarmed.. so they surrounded Major Hussein Arafa and his men, fifteen men of the republican guard; they pointed their machine guns at the commander of the military police...
Once again a situation similar to King Farouk's was repeated.. so Mohamed Naguib shouted in Hussein Arafa's face asking him to move away so that his soldiers would not be exposed to fighting with the soldiers of the republican guard and it would become a pool of blood, and he shouted at the commander of the republican guard asking him and his men to lower their weapons and move away.. and the two sides obeyed him.. and he then asked Hussein Arafa to follow him to his office without his men, so Hussein Arafa went up with him.. after insisting on bringing two men with him...
As soon as Naguib entered his office he was surprised by two men of the military police confiscating his papers.. so he rebuked them severely.. so they told him that they had orders to enter from Brigadier Hassan Kamal, the chief aide-de-camp, so all Naguib did was lift the telephone receiver and call Gamal Abdel Nasser.. and Abdel Nasser answered him that he would send Abdel Hakim Amer, the commander-in-chief of the armed forces, to explain the situation...
Abdel Hakim Amer arrived; and with hesitation and shyness.. he said to Mohamed Naguib "Your Excellency the Major General.. the Revolutionary Command Council has decided to relieve you of the post of president of the republic"...
Although Naguib had expected the situation.. it was still a shock to him.. and he asked to meet Gamal Abdel Nasser.. so Hussein Arafa called him and told him that he would bring Naguib and come to him.. but Abdel Nasser asked him to wait and told him that he was coming to Mohamed Naguib himself..
Preceding him in arriving at Mohamed Naguib was Zakaria Mohieddin.. and he declared at the time to Naguib.. that if he told him what information he had.. then he would be forced to arrest him.. for he could not be left at liberty after he would know what he would know.. especially as he was strongly influenced by the Brotherhood's thought...
Abdel Nasser came to Naguib.. and a short dialogue took place between the two men.. a dialogue short and terse in its words but long in its duration because Abdel Nasser revealed documents to Naguib.. Zakaria Mohieddin attended the whole meeting, and confronted Naguib with all the evidence of the group's involvement and their collaboration with the English.. and the emergence of new evidence of their involvement with the Americans as well..
The Brotherhood member Ibrahim al-Tayeb said; before the court later: "Major General Mohamed Naguib used to write the leaflets and assign the Brotherhood to print and distribute them.. and that Abdel Qader Ouda handed him a leaflet written in pencil, not in his handwriting but in the handwriting and with the signature of Mohamed Naguib, attacking the Evacuation Agreement, and that the secret apparatus prepared the plan of assassinations after agreement had been reached with Mohamed Naguib, and that they decided to assassinate everyone who stood against their armed revolution"...
While many more reliable sources wrote that Mohamed Naguib was surprised by the information.. and for the first time he read some of the documents, he who used to erupt merely at the raising of the subject previously.. and he asked Abdel Nasser afterwards whether he would arrest him or not.. and Abdel Nasser said that he had not forgotten that Naguib was one of the Free Officers, but he could not leave him at liberty with dangerous information like this and his residence had to be restricted...
Naguib asked Abdel Nasser, in a final plea.. that his residence not be restricted in his house and among his family and neighbours.. and he asked that this be done in the villa of Zeinab al-Wakil (the wife of Mustafa al-Nahhas Pasha, prime minister of Egypt), which had become state property.. and Abdel Nasser agreed to this request.. and this is the villa in which he remained for the rest of his life...
At this time.. and after the failure of the Manshiya incident specifically.. Sayyid Qutb had disappeared completely...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"The most striking thing about Sayyid Qutb's writings is their shallowness.. and their journalism.. and the re-formulation of the ideas of others... And if you wish, go back to his book "Literary Criticism.. Its Foundations and Methods" to realise fully how he rewrote the ideas of Arberry, Chalten and Ronson which were translated into Arabic..."
(Dr. Ezz al-Din Ismail - on Sayyid Qutb the literary man and the writer - an article in the 8 December 1952 issue of al-Thaqafa magazine)...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The confessions followed one another before the court.. and Sayyid Qutb disappeared in Upper Egypt.. for fear of being arrested after Naguib was removed...
Zainab al-Ghazali relates in the third chapter of the book "Days of My Life" exciting details about her relations with the Brotherhood leader Sheikh Abdelfattah Ismail, whom she got to know in Saudi Arabia in 1957, and how she pledged allegiance to him at the Kaaba to hear and obey and to strive in the way of God, and what she did in implementation of this pledge after her return to Egypt...
She goes on to say:
"The work plan aimed at gathering everyone who wanted to serve Islam so that they would join us, and all of that was merely research and drawing up plans until we knew our path.. so when we decided to begin the work we had to ask permission of the Supreme Guide, Mr. Hassan al-Hudaybi, because our jurisprudential studies on the decision to dissolve the Muslim Brotherhood group concluded that it was void.. and also that Gamal Abdel Nasser has no loyalty owed to him and no obedience is due from Muslims to him, and the reason is that he does not rule by the Book of God..."
Zainab al-Ghazali then points out that al-Hudaybi assigned all the responsibilities relating to the implementation of these plans to Sayyid Qutb!!
In another testimony, the Brotherhood leader Ahmed Abdel Maged admitted in his book published in 1991 titled "The Brotherhood and Their Battle with Abdel Nasser".. that he discussed the plan to assassinate Abdel Nasser with Sayyid Qutb.. and that the funding of the organisation came from abroad, and that the young men were being trained in placing bombs and explosives, pointing out that a secret meeting was held at the house of Ali al-Ashmawi in the (Shubra) district and that Sheikh Abdelfattah Ismail and Sheikh Mohamed Fathy Refaie attended this meeting.. and that they were in contact with the Supreme Guide Hassan al-Hudaybi.. and that they asked his permission for this work and he agreed. And therefore this work is considered legitimate because it is documented by the guardian and the legitimate leadership!!
For his part, Ali al-Ashmawi admitted in his memoirs, which he published after his release in Sadat's era, that the Brotherhood tried to kill Abdel Nasser in 1954.. and repeated that again in 1965, and he also admitted their plans for demolition and destruction and the storage of weapons, and he also spoke about what he called the "Scientific Research" group, which included Brotherhood graduates of the faculties of science, departments of chemistry, physics and biology, graduates of the faculty of engineering, and researchers at the National Centre for Research and Atomic Energy...
And the task of this group was to conduct research and experiments on making explosives, belts and explosive materials, bombs and poisons, especially since one of the assassination plans included many alternatives and options, among them killing Gamal Abdel Nasser with poison....
Sayyid Qutb was arrested.. and brought to trial.. and there his individual personal ambitions and his personal desire to take power became clear, strongly assisted by his mad extremist ideas.. to the point that one of the Brotherhood's prominent figures (Ahmed Raef) says on page 243 of his book "The Black Gate":
"His extremist ideas caused a large number of the senior Brotherhood leaders to oppose him because they saw his personal domineering motives and his moody, sharply volatile personality"..
Sayyid Qutb was tried with those involved in the attempt to assassinate Abdel Nasser and was sentenced to 15 years in prison... Three years later.. "Salah Nasr" took over the leadership of intelligence, succeeding Ali Sabry, who came after Zakaria Mohieddin, who had become a minister of state...
The Brotherhood here say about the duration of his imprisonment that "he tasted torment in all its varieties".. and the truth is that this is a lie like the group's usual lying.. because during this period he wrote two books.. "This Religion" and "The Future Belongs to This Religion", and he also completed "In the Shade of the Qur'an".. and a share of cigarettes, paper and pens was disbursed to him so that he could write.. to the point that in 1964 he entered hospital with a pulmonary haemorrhage from excessive smoking...
The Brotherhood say here: "So when chicken was brought to him in prison he would not taste it and would give it to his fellow Brotherhood prisoners"...
He tastes torment in all its varieties and roast chicken is brought to him in prison, how?? I do not know.. but even in lying they failed..
When Sayyid Qutb was arrested.. the Americans sent a message through his brother "Mohamed Qutb" to the king of Saudi Arabia saying that Abdel Nasser had arrested Qutb because he was fighting Islam and championing atheism and communism!!!
The truth is that this was the beginning of the thread of estrangement between Abdel Nasser and the king of Saudi Arabia at that time...
Farid Abdel Khaleq, the companion of Imam Hassan al-Banna, founder of the Muslim Brotherhood group and a member of the founding body and the former Guidance Office of the group, said in his testimony on those events that the reason for the arrest of Sayyid Qutb was his secret organisation known as the (65) organisation, in which he aimed to kill Abdel Nasser and liquidate him and overturn the regime...
In a testimony by Mr. Abdel Khaleq on the programme "Witness to the Era", in his capacity as a contemporary of all these events and a participant in them, the anchor Ahmed Mansour asked him: Was it clear that they were aiming to kill Abdel Nasser and liquidate him and overturn the regime?...
Farid Abdel Khaleq replied: "Yes, it was planned for that and proceeding on that basis..."
Ahmed Raef says in his book "The Black Gate": "Ali al-Ashmawi came out from Mr. Sayyid Qutb's place delighted because the latter had agreed to al-Ashmawi's plan to kill Gamal Abdel Nasser, Abdel Hakim Amer, Ali Sabry and Zakaria Mohieddin.. and the Brotherhood's confidence was firm that matters would calm down after the killing of these tyrants"...
Ten years passed of Qutb's imprisonment.. and in 1964; in a sitting between Abdel Nasser and the former Iraqi president Field Marshal Abdel Salam Aref.. the conversation turned to the Brotherhood and Abdel Salam Aref said to President Abdel Nasser.. that he had heard that Qutb was ill.. and he interceded for him to release him and "enough, by now he has come back to his senses"...
Abdel Nasser agreed (the villain who used to make Sayyid Qutb taste torment in all its varieties in prison and bring him cigarettes and chicken) and released him with a health pardon in the same year...
In this period the Americans had succeeded in their plan and pulled the group's carpet from under the English.. and began to attempt to recruit new elements.. and "Zainab al-Ghazali" began, with the Muslim Ladies Association, which in reality was providing financial support to the Muslim Brotherhood group after the state had severely squeezed the group's elements...
And the strange thing is that Sayyid Qutb, as soon as he was released, sought to contact the Americans once again!!!
And stranger still, he succeeded...!
Through his brother Mohamed Qutb the contact began anew.. and Sayyid began to get to know other agents like Zainab al-Ghazali.. and he began to move again toward the mission in which he had failed ten years earlier...
The assassination of Gamal Abdel Nasser...
But this time "Salah Nasr" was watching Sayyid Qutb and his attempts to re-establish the special organisation closely.. and he did arrest Mohamed Qutb on 9 August 1965.. and he followed him with Sayyid Qutb himself in the same month...
But Sayyid Qutb wept and pleaded and declared that he was with Abdel Nasser and his rule completely and that he was ready to cooperate with the Egyptian state.. and he said literally: that Zainab al-Ghazali was an agent of American intelligence.. and that she and the Brotherhood member "Munir al-Dilla" were seeking to turn the country into a pool of blood...
And they were confessions with correct names and addresses and of the utmost danger.. which led to the bringing down of the whole network.. and embarrassed the American side severely before the Egyptian foreign ministry.. and discussions wavered among officials about considering Qutb a "king's witness"...
But the Americans returned blow for blow to their former agent...
The Americans sent Qutb a final message in which they thanked him for exposing Zainab al-Ghazali according to their instructions and assigned him a new mission after the end of the trial...
And this time the Americans used a code in the message; which Salah Nasr knew well...
And it was the end...
And Qutb was tried.. and sentenced to death by hanging.. The Brotherhood said at the time "Abdel Nasser demanded that he apologise for his call to apply the Sharia in exchange for pardoning him".. as if the whole problem was the Sharia.. and they also said "Abdel Nasser crushed his palms and broke his hands in prison before his execution".. and at the same time "he was given a paper to sign containing his renunciation of his ideas concerning the application of God's law.. but Sayyid Qutb refused in dignity and pride and said: the index finger that bears witness in prayer that there is no god but God cannot write falsehood"...
How are his palms crushed, and how was he given a paper to sign? I do not know.. never mind that the phrase they attributed to him, "the index finger that bears witness in prayer that there is no god but God cannot write falsehood", originally belongs to the Libyan martyr "Omar al-Mukhtar"...
If you want to know how Qutb was before his execution you can go back to the writer "Ibrahim Masoud", who quoted from the witnesses' testimony of the meeting between Qutb and Salah Nasr before the execution in the scene of "The Execution of a Dead Man".. with him pleading and kissing the ground, "I do not want to die, Mohi Bey"...
But all of this was of no avail.. and at dawn on Monday 13 Jumada al-Awwal 1386 AH, corresponding to 29 August 1966 AD; the executioner pulled the lever of the execution platform and "Qutb's" body dangled from the noose to put an end to his long history...
A history of betrayal...
