Today we come to the conclusion of the Ottoman Empire series. The first two comments contain the references so many people asked about, with the author's name, the book title and page numbers. In the footnotes of those references themselves, you will find other references. And so on.
If you look at the Ottoman Empire as a whole, you find that it added a great deal to human civilization. A great deal of massacres, blood, destruction, stupidity, backwardness and decay. Did it add anything decent? Unfortunately, no.
So, scholars? Did it produce an Ottoman scholar, for example? Egypt produced many, such as the astronomer and mathematician Ibn Yunus. Iraq produced many, such as al-Kindi and al-Hasan ibn al-Haytham. From the Arabian Peninsula came the geographer and navigation expert Ibn Majid. And many others appeared and lived in the era of the Mamluk state, such as the Jordanian physician Ibn al-Quf. The list is long and endless: scholars, philosophers, physicians, inventors, astronomers, chemists, linguists and jurists.
Now bring me one from the ages of Ottoman occupation. And look at how the situation deteriorated. Forget it. Bring me one. Just one. Of Ottoman origin. One! You will not find one. And if you search Ottoman history you will find five scholars and inventors. They are Taqi al-Din Muhammad ibn Ma'ruf, from Syria. And al-Afghani, the man behind the successful gliding flight attempt, Hezarfen Ahmed Celebi. That was after he flew on glider wings and made a successful landing in front of Sultan Murad IV. He told him that flying was a gift granted exclusively to our master Solomon, peace be upon him, and is not fitting for anyone after him, and whoever tries to fly is an unbeliever! So he exiled him to Algeria, and he died in prison there.
The navigator and geographer Piri Reis was from Karaman. The Ottomans executed him a little while later!
There is Nasuh al-Silahi, and he was from Bosnia. And in the late Ottoman Empire there was the genius of electronics, the engineer Hassan Kamel al-Sabbah, from Lebanon!
Soldiers and army commanders came from Germany, Hungary, Serbia and England. The golden age of the Ottoman Empire, the era of the Koprulu family, they were from the Balkans!
One Ottoman, good people? There is none. Fine then, forget it. A linguist? A jurist? Religious scholars like Ibn Ata al-Sakandari and al-Izz ibn Abd al-Salam? Anything? There is none.
Let us leave scholars aside, our friends. Fine, Ottoman music! A song! Someone who masters the oud like al-Farabi? There is none. They did not know music beyond a primitive tune on the drum until they kidnapped musicians along with craftsmen from Egypt. Fine, an Ottoman painter? There is none. The sultans used to bring artists from Europe to paint their portraits.
Even the development of the great bombard, the terrifying invention with which they pounded the walls of Constantinople, its maker was Hungarian.
Even the famous dishes they attribute to themselves were from Egypt, Iraq and the Peninsula. Mahshi, the Mamluk Circassian dish, and I don't know what else. Even Islambouli cheese is not theirs. The Italian grocer Master Napoli made it in Cairo, and they stole it from him!
Fine, leave us a monument, people. I mean an important building in a country you occupied. A hospital. A school. A garden. A fountain. A sewer. A manhole cover. Anything at all? There is none.
Fine, point us to one piece of what you occupied in Europe or the Balkans that became Muslim. Weren't you "conquerors spreading Islam and so on"? There is no country with a non-Muslim majority that you entered and that became majority Muslim. Greece. Romania. Bulgaria. Serbia. Armenia. Cyprus. Anywhere. There is none.
Fine, if you are the protectors of the sanctuary of Islam, how did al-Andalus fall in your era without you offering it any aid? The English entered Egypt in your era. The French entered Algeria, North Africa, Syria and Lebanon in your era. Italy occupied Libya. And the Jews settled Palestine in your era.
They banned printing and the typewriter for nearly two and a half centuries, at the hands of the Ottoman sultan Bayezid II. While thousands of books were being printed in Europe and found in every home, and minds were enlightened, we were under the yoke of the Ottoman state writing on goatskins. They banned aviation. They imposed high fees on marriage and reduced fees on prostitution.
Your ancestors went and allied with the Mongols against the Egyptians. And your great grandfather, no one knows who his father is. To the extent that Tamerlane himself insulted Bayezid over his unknown lineage, in an official historical letter. You killed each other and slaughtered your brothers and your fathers and your mothers killed you and you killed your mothers. And in the end you come and tell us "we came to spread Islam." Your butcher Abdul Hamid sold Egypt to the English for money. And settled the Jews in Palestine.
They came to us with burning, flaying alive, impalement and castration, after the world had advanced and begun striving toward progress and humanity. And after there had been entire states before them that the world looked upon as an example of justice, injustice, backwardness and darkness spread within them. And with them came corruption, and people learned lying, malice and hypocrisy to escape the painful torment in the cellars of the palaces of the House of Osman. And their identities were distorted, and they inherited that for generations upon generations.
Political Islam grew up at their hands, and all their massacres and their legalization of prostitution, killing and extermination were issued in the name of the deity. And they produced a fatwa for every catastrophe. So we ended up with a new religion and a new lord that they invented. And with their disappearance and fall, new political Islamist groups emerged from under the cloak of the Ottoman state, talking about uniting the word of the Muslims, reviving the caliphate, not recognizing the homeland, and considering the homeland itself to be the religion. So with the immediate fall of the Ottoman state in 1922, secret groups of this kind emerged. They went about their activity in secret, and when they gathered followers they revealed themselves. It began with the Muslim Brotherhood announcing itself only six years after the fall of the Ottoman caliphate of blood, in 1928.
Even when they entered the World War they did not enter it as men do, clearly. They broke their covenant and allowed a treacherous surprise attack on Russia to please Germany. And in the end they were defeated by the beautiful Zionist spy who used to toy at night with the moustache of the commander of the Fourth Ottoman Army, so he poured all the war plans into her ears.
The aghas of the Ottoman state came out and told you "the whole of Egypt went to spread Islam." Yes. And to spread Islam they went and destroyed the Muslim Sunni Mamluk state!! Are you an idiot, my son?
The grovellers for the Ottoman state, the descendants of the eunuchs, told you, well, "no, the thing is the Mamluks made an alliance with the Shia Safavids, and that harms Islam, and the Ottomans saved us from Shiaization."
Really, my dear? Do you think all people are cattle like you who don't know how to read?
First, there is no treaty. Not a single treaty. Between the Safavids and the Mamluk state, even though Persia was a border state with the Mamluk state that extended to the Levant. Meanwhile there were more than 10 successive treaties between the Ottoman state and the Safavids, or Shia Persia. Selim's truce (1515), he made peace with them in order to free himself for the Mamluks! The Treaty of Amasya (1555), the Treaty of Istanbul (1590), the Treaty of Nasuh Pasha (1612), the Treaty of Sarab (1618), the Treaty of Qasr-e Shirin (1639), the Treaty of Hamadan (1727), the Treaty of Ahmed Pasha (1732), the Second Treaty of Istanbul (1736), the Treaty of Kurdan (1746), the Treaty of Erzurum (1823)!
Safavids, what? And when the Ottomans attacked the Mamluk state in Egypt and were defeated by al-Ashraf Qaytbay in 1486, was that because of the Safavids too? That was before the Safavid state even appeared in 1501, by 15 years!
When the Ottoman state, in the era of Abdul Hamid the Red, betrayed Ahmed Orabi and issued a decree declaring him an unbeliever because he was fighting the English, was it spreading English Islam too? Or when it handed Libya to Italy, was it spreading Italian Islam? Or what exactly?
Who exactly are you fooling?
And what is the goal and what is the point of grovelling to this extent to a lying, filthy occupier?
I am very surprised when I find an Egyptian, or a Libyan, or a Tunisian, or a Moroccan, or an Algerian, or a Gulf Arab, glorifying the Ottomans!! My son, your grandfathers were men and heroes and they sacrificed their blood to get rid of the Ottomans and to prevent them from desecrating their land. Who are you and what are you doing? What is this nonsense you are playing at?
I don't know, honestly, but I hope the people deceived by these figures start searching for themselves and understand, instead of being led along. Don't believe what I say. Search behind what I say. And I hope they wake up before it is too late.
