It seems "Hunter" spent night after night awake with dozens of cups of coffee and grey tobacco smoke, trying to get his hands on the threads by which to grasp the subject of "Brainwashing"..

The "Central Intelligence Agency" takes an interest in the subject and gives him a lot of powers.. and begins a program called "Project MKUltra"..

This program aims to develop techniques with which American intelligence can control minds..

Any minds..

The program begins with the American scientific intelligence division, and they enlist the US Army's biological warfare weapon in it.. and they begin torture parties and experiments on their captives and prisoners from among humans.. from injecting drugs to torture to pestering and insistence to sexual assault..

This program included children from 5 to 10 years old.. and it exposed them to drugs and hallucinogens and pestering and insults and torture and electricity and sexual assault with the utmost ease, as you see in the picture with this post..

Among the people who engaged in this project was a professor named "Donald Ewen Cameron".. the one in this picture.. he used to electrify patients without anesthesia, and fit them with headphones they could not remove, playing a single sentence to them all day and night.. and torture them with drugs, to the point that he caused permanent insanity in nearly 3,000 Canadian citizens, some estimates say 10,000, during his research that the CIA funded from a distance..

How do we eliminate the will, and kill logic, and plant in the brains whatever we want..? That was the question that was worth the treasures of the world at that time for American intelligence..

"Patty Hearst" and her case had not yet appeared on the scene, because the program emerged with the fallout of the Korean War, in 1953.. while "Patricia" was, on May 16, 1974, being subjected to a strange coincidence, through which the authorities reached the first threads that would let them reach her..

On that date, two members of the Symbionese Liberation Army, "William Harris" and his wife "Emily Harris", were looking at the goods in a clothing and sporting goods store.. when William stole some light goods and stuffed them in his pocket for an incomprehensible reason.. but it seems he was used to stealing and it made him feel psychologically better..

And as they were leaving the store, the store manager and an employee came out after them, and accused him of stealing some things, a scuffle breaks out, and the store manager is surprised by Patricia waiting for them in front of the store in a car.. and she picks up a pistol and empties its entire magazine around the manager and the employee, and forces them to hide until William and his wife get in.. and they escape..

But this time it is in an area that can be combed.. and a plate number and description of a car..

Therefore, the next day, May 17, 1974, the police reach the base where the members of the Symbionese Liberation Army are hiding.. and they attack it, but are surprised by a fierce, extremely violent resistance, in which six of the criminals die and the rest escape..

As for "Patricia".. there was no trace of her..

Her father comes out publicly and declares that he fears the police killed her as a kind of revenge.. but "Patty" sends them another recorded tape that she escaped with her "friends"...

"Patricia" develops greatly.. and begins to exploit the fact that she is educated and reads books, and starts making bombs for them, which explode in several places.. and kill and injure policemen and civilians..

Later, after her arrest, "Patricia"'s family does not believe that she made explosives.. but the police had her fingerprints on a bomb that did not explode.. they were able to defuse it.. and therefore there is no room for denial..

They keep chasing her and tightening the noose around the Symbionese Army, until she is arrested on September 18, 1975.. and then Patricia tells them that she is a "heroine of urban guerrilla wars".. and she attacks the American system and glorifies the left.. she almost did not eat because food was "one of the bourgeois capitalist pleasures" and her weight was about 40 kilos..

Her rigid, expressionless stares and her wooden, repetitive, illogical speech worry the interrogators, so they bring her the psychiatrist "Dr. Margaret Singer".. who sits with her several times.. and announces to them a strange fact..

That "Patricia"'s IQ had deteriorated to a terrifying degree compared to the usual and the known, which her school and medical files had carried all her life.

It deteriorated to a wondrous degree, and Dr. Margaret described it as closer to the intelligence of insects.. which know neither thinking nor reason, and are driven only by a few instincts..

But even Patricia's instincts were far from normal human instincts, so she did not care about food or anything else..

But back to the Symbionese Army case..

What was planted in her mind made her.. according to Dr. Margaret.. more like a zombie..

Her defense declares that she was subjected to violent brainwashing by members of the Symbionese Army.. which deprived her of the ability to discriminate.. but fortunately no courts accept legal excuses of the "low intelligence and zombie mentality and brainwashing" type.. so "Patricia" was deemed fit to stand trial and was brought to justice..

Here something strange happened..

Of course her family were among the top media figures.. as we said.. so everyone was surprised that the media referred to the incident as "saving Patty Hearst".. not "arresting Patricia Hearst.."

As if she, after she had stolen and killed and planted explosives, were the victim.. not the criminal..

Worse, demonstrations come out - by the very people Patty was planting explosives to kill - demanding her freedom...!

Public opinion is strongly affected, and this causes extreme worry and tension for the authorities..

So now any criminal.. can come out and say my brain was washed.. with media support.. he can rally the street to his side.. and make them adopt his cause..

And that is a truly terrifying catastrophe..

The judge "Oliver Jesse Carter" receives the demonstrations outside the court impassively.. and sentences "Patty" to the maximum possible penalty.. 35 years in prison.. but with the death of this judge, they reduce the sentence to seven years..

In the end, American President Carter responds to public opinion, and reduces the sentence to 22 months..

"Patty" underwent intensive psychiatric treatment sessions in prison, and began to recover her nature, and said that she had been subjected to torture and persistent pestering..

"Patty"'s story made experts actually study the idea of "brainwashing" as a possible legal defense.. but that did not work because of the Christian cleric Father "Fr. Francis Luca"..

And that we will talk about later, and the story continues..
