The author of the character "James Bond" was named "Ian Fleming".. a writer and musician and a naval intelligence officer, who acknowledged himself several times that "Bond" was a mixture of several real characters.. the first of them was his older brother "Peter Fleming". "Peter" had looked after "Fleming" from childhood.. and supported him, and did everything that pleased him.. he was even the one who brought him into the world of writing.. so he looked upon his brother "Peter" as a god.. and loved him to the point of worship.

That is why "Fleming" based "Bond's" appearance and height and specifications exactly on "Peter's" form.. he also gave him "Peter's" extraordinary courage.. because "Peter" was a soldier in wartime, and carried out extremely dangerous operations, behind enemy lines, in Poland and Norway and Greece.

Also "Bond" had something of "Popov", whom we spoke about before in detail.

The third character was a young man named "Forest Frederick Edward".. a light-hearted officer, handsome of features, serving as a wing commander in the Royal Air Force. His code name was "Seahorse".. meaning "sea horse".

As for his nickname.. it was "Tommy".

And this "Tommy" was a very strange character.

Before the "Normandy" landings.. the French resistance had to move in its turn.. to confuse the Nazis.. and weaken them the whole time.. and when the Allied spy network became confused, with the "Treasure" problem and the interrogation of "Garbo" and the freezing of "Popov's" activity.. "Tommy" was supposed to try to provide intelligence support.. to the French resistance.. instead of this network.

The situation was extremely difficult, but "Tommy" decided to carry out his mission, whatever the cost.. so he drew up a new plan on the basis of which he decided to move. Everyone rejected this plan, but "Tommy" kept going around and around, until he caught "Churchill" himself, on the Parliament stairs.. and begged him to speak with him for just five minutes.. and "Churchill" did agree to hear him.. and granted him five minutes in which to explain to him who he was and what he wanted...

And "Tommy" explained his crazy plan.

And the strange thing is that "Churchill" liked the plan, and was impressed by "Tommy's" enthusiasm despite his youth.. so he agreed and ordered his plan carried out immediately.

And on the following night.. "Tommy" was aboard a plane with a colleague of his, crossing with it through occupied French airspace, and he jumped by parachute in the darkness of night.. behind enemy lines.

And "Tommy" landed in the heart of France and got rid of the parachute and took off his jump clothes.. and beneath them was a formal suit and coat, for a Gestapo officer.. so he put on the military cap and adjusted his appearance, and stopped a patrol of German soldiers.. and went about searching them sternly.. then ordered them to take him, to their command center.

And there.. "Tommy" met the German officers, and shook their hands warmly, as a new officer recently transferred to the Gestapo office.. and he had dinner with them, while they discussed German movements with the utmost seriousness, then he shook their hands even more warmly, and left at once, for the French resistance tunnels in Paris - and they had word of his arrival - and he gave them the information.

And the problem is that "Tommy" repeated his visits.. and he liked the arrangement, so he began dining regularly, with the German commanders and officers.. who welcomed the disciplined, handsome officer who had just recently been transferred from Germany.. and he obtained from them extremely important information.. which he constantly delivered to the men of the French resistance in Paris.

True, it was not top-secret information.. but in wartime.. when an officer talks about his battalion in a certain area being supplied, for example, with life jackets.. then other extremely important information can be built on that.. this battalion will cross water at some point.. for example.

And despite "Tommy's" audacity and his astonishing brilliance.. the Nazis had their spies as well.. and the French resistance was penetrated.. as we have read in this series.. so the German spy in the heart of the resistance.. reported on "Tommy" and he was arrested as he was coming back from a lavish Nazi dinner, in a Paris metro station.

And the Nazis began their party of torturing "Tommy", with cold water and electric shocks and beatings, while he the whole time was completely calm, with a mocking, provoking smile.. until he collapsed from the pain after a week.. and asked them for a cup of tea and a cigarette and paper and a pen.. so that he could write down a full confession.

And "Tommy" gave them a false confession, that he was a pilot officer named "Kenneth Dodkin".. and that his plane had gone down in a raid on Paris.. and he had found no way to escape the Germans except to blend in among them.. meaning that he was fleeing from the lion into its den.

And the Germans investigate "Kenneth" through their spies.. and the information turns out to be correct.. so they throw "Tommy" in prison.

What helped "Tommy" was that in his false confession he used the name of a real English pilot.. whose plane had in fact gone down over France and who had become one of the missing!

And in his prison "Tommy" tried to escape twice.. and both times they failed and he was tortured because of them with agonizing torture.. and the Nazi commander grew fed up with him.. so he transferred him to "Buchenwald concentration camp".

And there.. "Tommy" spent several days.. and then he decided to escape once again. But this time, in order to escape, he needed a better plan than hitting the guard and running.. or loosening the window nails or bars with the food spoon.. so he went and formed a resistance cell of the prisoners in the camp.. and most of them were soldiers or resistance men seasoned in fighting.. until he succeeded and caused a massive riot, because of which the archive burned.. and the doors were opened.. but the Nazi forces took control of the situation and arrested him.

And with the documents burned.. the Nazis went about interrogating the prisoners to find out the identity of each of them.. he presented himself to them as a Frenchman.. arrested and deported from France. And because he was troublesome and incited unrest.. when the opportunity came to transfer the French from "Buchenwald" and separate them from the English.. the Nazis breathed a sigh of relief, and transferred him to another camp.. near Poland.

And there "Tommy" tried to escape from his prison, for the last time in his life.

And this time.. he succeeded.

He succeeded and killed two guards, and headed for the empty room of the camp commander, and stole his suit and coat, and the keys to his car.. and he pulled the military cap down over his face as he approached the gate.. and the soldiers recognize the car, and open the gate for it with a military salute.

He carried out dozens of adventures and stole dozens of cars and disguised himself in a thousand forms and faces.. and made explosives from paint cans and car fuel.. and made traps and mines for the Nazis who were chasing him as if he were the real "James Bond".. and in the end.. he did in fact succeed in crossing the border and returning to France, after the Normandy landings.

And there in the heart of the fire.. he attacked a group of Nazis and stole their weapons.. and opened fire on the Germans and they opened fire on him hundreds of times.. until he was finally able to reach the Allied lines, in late April, of the year 1945.

London received him with a heroes' welcome, and he received a dozen medals and decorations.. and he later became an important eyewitness against the Nazi leaders at the "Nuremberg War Trials", because he had seen their torture and their camps with his own eyes.

And despite his eventful life, one night, he drank too much alcohol, and he slipped in the bathroom in his apartment in Paris, and he fell and his head struck.. and he lost consciousness and began to bleed slowly without feeling it.. until he died from the excessive bleeding, at the age of 61.

There is a statue of "Tommy" in the Paris City Hall, honoring him for the services he rendered to the French resistance during the Nazi occupation.

This was one of the characters on whom the character "James Bond" was built. And "Tommy" differs somewhat from "Sidney Reilly".. whom you feel was truly "James Bond" in flesh and blood, but we will talk about him later.

And the talk will have a sequel.
