Whether in your diet plan you decided to train cardio, or with weights, or calisthenics.. there is one piece of advice that contains the essence of the whole matter..

"Get serious"..

Training time means "training time".. and it means you deal with it seriously.. 25 - 30 serious minutes are better than an hour and a half of coddling..

Iron gyms and sporting events in our entire Arab world, from the Gulf to the Ocean, turn into chat sessions.. and in the gym the matter turns into "Hellooo Abbas.. did you see such-and-such film yesterday? Didn't Zaki hit his wife yesterday, so I killed him at night and stuffed him into bags? Did you see the... etc"..

Not to mention the brilliant person who walks into the iron gym while you're lifting a heavy weight and comes up to extend his hand to shake yours..! And you're expected to let the weight fall and smash your skull and shake his hand, or else you're rude and ill-mannered..

Sports time is for sports.. try not to make friends with anyone in the gym if he's one of its regulars.. and that will destroy your excuse of "well, I'm too lazy to go alone".. no.. go alone, it's better.. and make a good music playlist that motivates you and put headphones in your ears.. and keep your relationship with the staff and the other trainees to head-nodding and "good morning/evening".. and that's it..

Also the volunteer person who jumps at you in every training session trying to prove to you that you're a donkey and that he's a genius.. try to avoid him completely.. if you have a question, ask the trainer himself.. and try to be brief and precise, knowing what you're asking about and what you want.. meaning "Captain, if you please, show me such-and-such technique".. without rambling.. because this captain is a hardworking, exhausted man who talks to hundreds daily and spends 8 - 9 hours a day on nonsense of the sort "I want to get taller.. I want to make my chest smaller and my eyebrows bigger.." etc..

What's the best type of sport? The truth is the best type is a mix of the three.. cardio one or two days a week and weights blended with calisthenics the rest of the days..

You must rest a whole day doing nothing in it.. except your normal daily activities.. training in reality exhausts your muscle cells and causes you tiny tears.. that's why weight training may cause you pain afterwards.. bodybuilders love this pain and repeat the phrase "No pain.. no gain".. even though this sentence is, scientifically speaking, nonsense..

Your muscles can benefit from training without hurting.. if you leave the gym exhausted and feel tension and tightness in your muscles without pain, then you've benefited normally all the same.. that means you drank enough water.. took enough potassium, sodium and trace elements..

Along with the tearing of a thin layer of your muscle fibers during training.. your muscles build bigger and stronger muscle fibers to face the pressure.. each of your muscle cells is itself a small factory that burns fat..

This happens on rest days.. without rest your body will be put under violent pressure.. and your muscles won't have time to heal.. and you'll start getting injured, and cortisol from stress will accumulate in your body, and you'll find yourself practicing sport and storing fat..

Training doesn't only exhaust your muscles.. it exhausts the human nervous system.. and that therefore must rest..

As for the young people who are studying with tight schedules.. and housewives.. the best type is calisthenics.. a sport with the body's own weight, and it can be played anywhere.. at home you can do push-ups, abs and squats.. the emergency doctor on night shift in the ambulance unit, with ten minutes, can do a bit of calisthenics.. the engineer on site.. the lawyer in his office.. calisthenics' greatest advantage is that it can be performed anywhere.. the first video in the references has calisthenics exercises for beginners..

Weights offer an advantage over calisthenics and cardio.. which is something called "Afterburn".. you usually burn calories during training.. but by virtue of the afterburn.. you also burn after training.. while you're sitting at your desk studying or in your favorite chair reading.. and even during sleep..

Cardio gives you this effect for an hour to two hours after training.. and calisthenics reaches six hours.. while weights.. can reach 14 hours of burning after training with you..

But don't stop.. practice what's easiest for you and what suits your time.. in addition to training; learn not to take the elevator and go up and down the stairs.. ride a bicycle.. walk your nearby errands.. you'll save your health, your fuel and your money..

Some people imagine they've grown too old to start on this talk.. Aamir Khan, the "young man" in photo number 1.. is 54 years old.. and if Aamir Khan "was like that before and came back".. then the one in photo 2 is 59 years old.. and started at the age of 55.. and the one next to him in photo 3.. 61 years old.. and started at the age of 57.. there are examples of people who started at sixty and seventy.. for the first time..

The lady in photo 4 is 65 years old.. and she started at the age of 63.. and her appearance became better, more beautiful and younger, and her health changed completely for the better..

You'll hear "after he grew old they took him to the scribes".. and the rotten proverbs that incite laziness, surrender, helplessness and decay.. yes, after he grew old they took him to the scribes, sir.. so we bury him alive because his hair turned grey?? The lady in photo 5 got a degree in engineering, medicine and philosophy after she passed seventy..

Be serious.. be patient.. fight and challenge yourself.. don't rush.. some people rush and resort to steroids, hormones and those pills.. in the second video you'll find "Greg Valentino".. he almost lost his arms and escaped amputation by a miracle because of these injections.. "Trevor Smith", the bodybuilding champion, died at the age of 33.. "Danielle Serasi" like him.. and died at the same age.. "Andreas Münzer" died at 31.. "Nasser El Sonbaty" and "Greg Kovacs" died in their early forties..

You don't practice sport to become like the person in photo 6.. and then not know how to scratch your back.. you practice it so your health improves and your life improves.. and you become strong, slim, fast, active.. the goal is absolutely not for you to turn into a human hippopotamus..

Our hearts are not designed to bear the shape in photo 6.. consequently the heart enlarges.. and a body like that needs 7 - 8 thousand calories daily, and that exhausts all its organs and glands and puts continuous pressure on the nervous system.. it's lethal and "utterly pointless"..

Of course we must always remember that if you're taking any medication or suffering any health problems, or you've broken the fifty-year barrier, it's preferable that your diet and your exercise be under a doctor's supervision..

In the third and fourth videos there are special exercises for our friends and brothers who are unable to move because of extreme obesity or an injury or some illness.. that has made the person bedridden.. you can still train.. and improve your health and your life..

As for our parents, our elders and our great teachers who have passed seventy and eighty.. well, the train missed them too.. and we'll talk about them later.. and there's more to come..
