Lots of things, simple as they are, affect the morale of peoples and armies.. and make them win or lose..

We spoke here once about the cat "Simon" who slipped into the port onto a frigate belonging to the Royal Navy.. and the days pass and "Simon" becomes the reason the very same frigate is saved from destruction and capture.. the story of Simon the cat is in the first reference for anyone who wants to go back to it...

"Simon" has a fellow-countryman cat named "Togo".. the cat sleeping in the mouth of the cannon in the picture, that one.. he played a similar role with the frigate "Dreadnought"..

There is also the story of a Syrian bear named "Wojtek".. the Allied forces got hold of him when he was a cub.. and he grew up among the soldiers.. and he began to entertain them and help them carry boxes of food and ammunition...

"Wojtek" had a role in a limited siege that happened in the "Battle of Monte Cassino" when the Germans attacked a small company.. and were about to wipe out the soldiers.. had not "Wojtek" suddenly appeared carrying an ammunition box in his hands and advancing on his hind legs, coming from behind the Allied soldiers in a terrifying scene..

They stay very simple things.. a cinema film.. a pet.. a picture.. a phrase.. a post.. they affect people's morale and make a great difference to them in wartime..

Don't go thinking they support Ghana and Burkina Faso and Mozambique for no reason.. or because they are waiting for "Morsi to come back" so that they can love their country...

These are instructions they carry out...

He really does want the other team to win.. and he wants to make you read the sentence "Egypt's defeat".. even if it is in a football match.. he wants you to feel it.. and for it to seep into your conscience and reach deep inside you.. and for you to feel the bitterness of defeat.. and to be defeated in fact from within yourself...

According to the plan, yesterday's match was not supposed to be played.. there was not supposed to be a national team at all..

Egypt in particular had a fate prepared for it that would make Somalia beside it look like God's paradise on earth.. always throughout history all the countries of the world were being defeated and falling.. and then they come to a knot called "Egypt" and all the plans fail...

And they have studied history very well.. and they know the value of Egypt very well...

And yet.. that happened anyway this time.. nobody has a catalogue for Egyptians...

So the truth is that an "annihilation" had been prepared for you.. one you would not rise from afterwards, not even after a million years.. review the events, then? Terrorism along with the destruction of the social fabric along with a bundle of epidemics along with a Nile that does not exist along with famine along with a terrifying intellectual and social apostasy along with a mental backwardness that makes you believe anything at any time along with convincing you that there is no use in education and no importance to it because you are a failure.. weak.. worthless.. ignorant.. and anything or any word can discourage you and make you miserable and destroy you and make you hate your life.. to the point that they held an event to encourage suicide...

You were not going to go back to tribalism.. and we would become warring tribes.. no.. he was trying to dismantle us at the level of the family itself.. meaning the concept of the family, which is a lower rank than the tribe, would not exist.. and the brother kills his brother and slaughters his father because this one is with ISIS and this one is with al-Nusra and this one wants Shafiq and this one loves Abu al-Futouh.. and a deadly whirlpool with no end.. or, to put it more precisely.. it is itself the end.. and there is no rising from it...

For the sake of that he waged against you every kind of psychological warfare.. and despite that we endured blow after blow.. and we answered the enemy with his own weapon and.. and we defeated him...

The matter is bigger than a football match and a tournament.. half of them consider football forbidden in the first place and don't even follow it.. now it has become permissible and they have started supporting African teams?? Of course not.. these are instructions and part of the psychological warfare plan...

And for a second time, yesterday he was dealt a terrible defeat.. he saw with his own eyes the millions whose lives he poisons every day with rumours and hatred and malice.. leaving their homes in the cold and watching the match in the streets.. he saw them celebrating in the roads.. and he saw their joy at their country's victory.. which extended into the first hours of dawn.. and it made him know that everything he had done in the past period was wasted...

None of us hated his country.. nor despaired of standing behind it.. nor stopped supporting it....

Billions were spent, and hashtags and rumours and lies and malice and negative energy.. and all of it was dissipated in seconds and came to nothing...

So the matter is bigger than a match or a tournament.. it is a complete psychological war.. football in particular has an extremely strong effect on the psyche of peoples in wartime..

This time I will not bring you references.. if you don't believe me.. you can search for yourself for "Role of Football in World War One".. and then drop the word "First" and look at new research on "World War Two".. and the Spanish Civil War.. and the Algerian War.. and any modern war that comes to mind...

So we can say that the role of Egypt's players is no less at all than the role of "Moral Affairs".. which is supposed to raise people's morale in wartime.. that is why Captain "Essam El-Hadary" turned into a national hero in moments.. without people knowing why or him knowing why.. but that is the psychological effect of the matter...

The national team, headed by Essam El-Hadary, burned the blood of the enemies, the homeland-haters.. and made millions happy.. they made thousands of soldiers on the borders happy.. and raised their morale.. and therefore their fighting efficiency..

Yes.. the matter really is that important...

We have already won.. and we have dealt them a terrible psychological defeat.. and, God willing, we will continue and carry off the cup.. and it will be a knockout blow in the current battle.. the one writing a new chapter in the chapters of psychological warfare..

You may not be very interested in knowing about psychological warfare and its techniques.. but believe me.. psychological warfare is interested in you...

And always remember Napoleon's sentence:

"Battles are decided in the breasts of men, before they are decided on the battlefields"..
